Matching the earlier versions they are based on the amount of space/height your trailer has available to mount the hardware. There are 3 sizes of 8700 awning hardware available and they can be used with your existing awning barrels if required. While the choice of fabric colours profiles has been reduced to black to white or white to black, the mounting hardware options has stayed the same.Ĭhoice of White or Black When Awning is Stowed Against the Caravan In late 2020 Dometic introduced theĨ700 Awning, the new model replaces both the 83 condensing the Dometic awning range further and enabling the streamlining of components to suit the current (8700) and previous models of A&E Roll Out Awnings (8300, 85) In recent years the 9000 model was made obsolete, and a universal hardware kit was introduced to cover all 3 models. Regardless of the branding the original core range included the following models: 8300, 8500 & 9000. As the company has evolved the awnings have been branded under a variety of names In that time there has been a few key models of Roll-Out awnings. My awning comes straight out just like Southwind98's and rolls up the 4 foot section just fine but it does struggle with the additional 6 foot section added so that piece only gets put on if the west sun is on the street side.Dometic have been suppling RV Awnings to the Australian Caravan Industry for many years now. My awning is a Carefree so maybe its a little different. It's a state of mind." Pole Sitter in Douglas Adams MOSTLY HARMLESS Awning tension is too strong for me to slide it in the rail. I had the full screen staked out in a heavy rain and it seems to have moved the awning in it's track as the arms no longer retract into the mounting bars, unless I push sideways on the front arm while my wife activates the awning. So far the attached segment has been sufficient for most sites I've had this summer. Anyone know if there is a manual override? Keep fearing the day it will not retract. It works the same whether using the engine running or shore power. It acts like the motor is barely strong enough. I will test the power coming to the awning motor and might also try the bypass cable. I think I will give it a try again and see if I can get it to retract. There could be many reasons such as low voltage, gas strut issue, spring slippage in the awning, etc. I have been researching and found several forums where people have found that many have reported that the WeatherPro sometimes has retraction issues. Now you have me wondering if the motor is weak/worn. I put the top part on when I got it and it just didn't want to roll with it attached. I'm curious too why it wouldn't roll up? Did it try, or just no movement?Ģ013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Towed So far haven't had any issues and we really believe it was one of our better additions. Arriving back it only takes a minute to zip it back up. Because of the outdoor tv, I normally have chairs sitting under it so when we leave the rv, I unzip and let it lay across the chairs and retract the awning. What I like about it is the ease of placing the larger section on and off. I only attach the larger section when we are going to be at a site for more than a week. With the shade pro the smaller screen really provides needed shade and privacy from neighbors looking directly into rv when deployed. We purchased the shade pro a couple of years ago and love it, mainly because like yours our awning is mounted on the roof and provided little shade. Odd that the awning wouldn't roll up with the small section of screening that you leave attached. Mods: EEZRV Products TPMS, Cobra 29LX 50th Anniversary CB radio with Firestik NGP Antenna, Self contained sewer hose I guess I am looking for opinions on using something like the ShadePro on a Power Awning and I am curious, do those of you with power awnings use the accessory track for anything else? and it worries me to stake the awning down via the ShadePro. I thought I would just install it at camp but I have worries about using it as I wouldn't be able to use the wind sensor, etc. I installed it in the accessory track when I got it and my WeatherPro wouldn't roll-up with it attached. Last year I bought a ShadePro Vista Shade and I've yet to use it. I have an 18' Dometic A&E WeatherPro Power awning and when deployed on my coach it is quite high and so it doesn't shade as much as I'd like.
